“That was regrettable. That was kind of an interaction with Cowboys supporters out in front of us,” Jones stated during a Tuesday interview. “Present was a large group of Dallas supporters—not New York fans, Cowboys fans. The whole venue was brimming with enthusiasm for the Cowboys.”
He further clarified that the signal was completely accidental, occurring amid the excitement following the team’s final touchdown. “I simply put up the wrong finger,” he noted. “The action was inadvertently done. This is sincere. Should you call it accidental, you can. However, it got resolved pretty quick.”
